Passionworks is an emergency relief humanitarian organization that is dedicated to bringing help and hope to all who need; regardless of their situation or socio-economic status. They are advocates for the homeless and the hungry. They are indeed a charity that gives it all away.

We promise to teach as many as possible that through social consciousness, giving, and selflessness, the entire world can thrive by helping one another, one person at a time.

Hunger and homelessness in America are at an 18 year high. In these tough economic times many middle class Americans have recently found themselves jobless, homeless and hungry. The same people that were supporting and providing assistance to our country’s homeless population now find themselves in desperate need. Record high housing and food costs as well as double digit unemployment have brought despair and need to many families nationwide .

Tent cities have have always been a part of American culture. However theses encampments have grown in numbers during the past few years. Many tent city residents are not there by choice; but as a result of the lack of affordable housing and the scarcity of good paying, stable and full time jobs in these tough economic times.

The video below hits very close to home for us. This tent city is right in our backyard, only a few miles away from our Studio.

 

Passionworks is an advocate for the homeless, giving them a much needed face and a voice. They provide a consistent supply of food, warm clothing and a helping hand to people in need. Most importantly Passionworks gives hope. Hope for a better tomorrow.

Funky Chunks soaps is proud to help Passionworks succeed in their purpose of lessening the inequality between all individuals and social groups. If our donations can help even one family have a better quality of life, a hot meal and a place to lay their heads at night-then we have accomplished great things.

Spring is just around the corner and so are several new soaps that will be added to our lineup on March 1st.

Spellbound

This soap starts out with crisp citrus notes of orange and grapefruit. Then we add sweet cherry blossoms, apples and ripe peaches.  This amazing scent is rounded out with just a wisp of hydrangea to remind you of a warm spring afternoon.

 

 

Raindrops

“April showers bring May flowers”

That is exactly what this soap Chunk smells like. It starts out with the scent of fresh rain showers. Then we add the herbal scent of sweet green grass and round it all out with lemon, lavender and lily of the valley. If there was one scent that reminded me of spring; this soap Chunk would win hands down!

 

 Mystic

This soap Chunk is a light musk scent perfect for men as well as women. Very sensuous, earthy and fresh. If you love the smell of musk then this addition to our Zen collection will be perfect for you.

The yogurt facial cream is the first product that we will be offering to our customers. I’ve been using it daily for the past two weeks and I’m absolutely in love with this cream. I have very sensitive dry skin, especially on my face. I have to be extra careful as to what products I use. I’m prone to breakouts, rash and clogged pores. This facial cream has been a dream. It’s light and creamy at the same time. The cream quickly absorbs into the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling behind.

I’m very excited to share this new cream with our customers! For a limited time we will be including a 1 ounce sample size of our yogurt and fig facial lotion with every order. You will be able to purchase the full sized 2 ounce yogurt and fig facial cream in our online shop early this spring.

Green Tea Zen

The Soap Chunk that started it all! We load this Chunk up with real Matcha Green Tea. Then to compliment the green tea we scent this Chunk with crisp white grapefruit, jasmine, cyclamen and violet. To top it off we round out the scent with East Indian Sandalwood, vanilla beans  and a light musk.

Funky Buddha

Funky Buddha is a very calming and sensual scent. This scent is a unique combination of earthy Amber and an exotic blend of Asian herbs. Unlike most Amber scents Funky Buddha does not have a musky scent. It's aroma is very fresh, crisp and sophisticated. A perfect fit for our Zen Collection.

 

 

 Shangri-La

Let the aroma of this soap chunk relax your mind and take you to the beautiful gardens of Shagri-La.
Shangri-la starts out with the bright scents of lilies and hyacinth. Then we add mellow notes with lavender and Ylang Ylang. Finally we round out this amazing scent with crisp green ferns and sweet bergamot. This floral scent is not overpowering, but well rounded and bright.
